Here is an excerpt from our interview with Milind Soman for Gauri Jayaram's Wise Enough to be Foolish:
You have read the book. What is your first impression of it?
MS: A highly enjoyable story of a young woman, who
through strength of mind and character, takes everything that life throws at
her and throws it right back, finding the good in all of it.
Who do you think should read it?
MS: Anybody reading this book will enjoy the
protagonist immensely and the light and conversational style in which the book
is written. There are simple messages on how to deal with life in the most
positive way that are relevant to everybody.
Is there a core message from it that you would like to pass on to
readers?
MS: Never lose your Belief in yourself and you will find
your path to happiness!
It's probably the first time in India a book launch is being associated
with a pan India event. Tell us a bit about it.
MS: It’s very exciting for us at Pinkathon to be
associated in this way with Wise enough to be Foolish. Not only is it a novel
way of fund raising for the cause of breast cancer awareness, but the book
itself and its protagonist are a symbol for each and every one of the empowered
women who have made the Pinkathon and its message of health and happiness a
part of their lives. Also in the continuously evolving world of creative book
marketing, it is a mutually beneficial partnership as Pinakthon offers a great
platform to the book - we just might be setting the trend for future
associations like this one..
What are your plans for Pinkathon for the coming year?
MS: Our dream is to have an empowered, influential
community of women across India, spreading the message of health and happiness.
This year, 2013, the Pinkathon will travel to Chandigarh, Pune, Hyderabad,
Delhi and Mumbai, on the road to making this annual 12 city series a reality.
